The CSFN at NEISA 2026

The CSFN, represented by Hervé de Trémiolles, attended the NEISA (Nuclear Energy Innovation Summit for Africa), held in Kigali, Rwanda, from 18 to 21 May 2026.

The summit aims to bring together all stakeholders involved in the development of civil nuclear programmes across Africa, including governments, industry, financial institutions, students, and other key actors. NEISA positions itself as a pan-African platform designed to strengthen cooperation among countries seeking to develop nuclear energy projects, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and microreactors.

For the African leaders attending the summit, the question is no longer whether nuclear energy should play a role in electrifying their countries, but rather how to build the partnerships, cooperation frameworks, financing mechanisms, and institutional structures needed to deliver these projects across Africa. Nuclear energy is now widely regarded as a strategic infrastructure for ensuring energy security and supporting the industrial and digital development of African nations.

A France Pavilion, organised by GIFEN, showcased France's international nuclear offering, with a particular focus on its supply chain. Participating companies included Altrad Endel, Arlelia, Bertin Technologies, and Parlym. The pavilion was inaugurated by Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA.

WNE (World Nuclear Exhibition) was a partner of the event. Its Chair, Sylvie Bermann, and Secretary General, Farahnaz Laldjee, attended the summit and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the partnership with NEISA.

Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, announced that the next edition of NEISA will be held in Togo in 2027.
