The Nuclear Energy Summit 2026, in which the CSFN participated in the organization, was held today in Paris in the presence of heads of state and government, as well as industrial and financial stakeholders from around the world. By taking an active role in its organization, the CSFN is proud to have contributed to a new step forward in support of tripling global nuclear capacity by 2050.

Context

On 2 December 2023, during COP28 in Dubai, 22 countries committed to a joint declaration aiming to triple global nuclear capacity by 2050. This expansion is necessary to meet climate targets (net zero by 2050), strengthen energy security, and broaden access to clean and reliable energy. France, under the leadership of President Macron, played a decisive role in shaping this declaration.
Since then, new countries have joined the initiative. On the eve of the Summit, 34 signatory countries had endorsed the declaration, alongside 140 companies and industrial organizations—including the French actors EDF, Orano, Framatome and GIFEN—who also committed to supporting this tripling effort.
